For mainstream computers you have a standard resolution which is 1024 x 768 (standard XGA) and 1280 x 800 (widescreen XGA)

Resolution is responsible for the determination of the size for each pixel on your screen. And it is usually measured as its DPI. DPI is acronym for dots per inch. This value is much important for it is responsible for determining the default size of text in your computer screen. If you have highr value then it means you have smaller text and in case the value for DPI is smaller then you would have a larger text.

Depending on the manufacturer of your selected laptop and the size of the screen, you are able to choose between different resolutions.

Note book screen – glossy or matte?

The last thing you would require considering and of course the most confusing one is the texture or the appearance of your computer screen. You might hav observed while you have walk through the note book display that many among them have gloosy appearing screen while many have matte screen.

Although glossy appearance looks great when your computer is shut down but the problem is their reflective nature can be a hurdle for reading texts easily. But most of people are found recommending the glossy screens for text and writing purpose as compared to matte ones. This of course is a matter of personal preference. My note books goes with the glossy one and the good thing is it is quiet easy to use as compared to glossy one.
